Team Policies
the missed practice policy is going into effect in 2024...just getting it primed up and ready
If you want to achieve things you never imagined, you must be willing to do things you have never done before!
PHYSICAL HEALTH
Every athlete must have a completed physical and insurance waiver form on file in the Athletic Director’s office, which is also where they can get the forms. This must be completed and upload to registermyathlete in their particular sport to be eligible to participate. A physical is valid up to one year from the date of the exam.
LETTERING POLICY
There are several ways an athlete may letter in men’s track and field:
Score 10 points at invitationals
Conference Champion in the varsity division at the District Finals Track Meet
Place 8th place or higher at the State Track Meet
4-year participant in track and field
MISSED PRACTICE POLICY
1st – Held out of next meet
2nd – Held out of next meet
3rd – Dismissed from team
There are always special cases like death in the family, school field trip, etc. However, for these special cases to be considered the athlete needs to speak to the coaches. Not text, not email, come speak face to face with one of the coaches. Please parents hold your children accountable to this.
1 point will be deducted from the student-athlete's point total, used for establishing letter winners, for each missed practice, competition, or team related function as determined by the Viking Coaching Staff.
PRACTICE GEAR
Dress according to the weather conditions!
Athletes will NOT be allowed to practice without proper attire (shoes, shorts, shirt)
Wear SHS gear. Don't wear other high school gear.
Be proud you are a Viking!
